FAQ General
With a continuously growing network of proficient partners, there should be a Ahooga waiting for you nearby. In case there is no dealer in your region, do not hesitate to give us the name of your favorite shop and we'll make sure to contact them.

As for technical support or maintenance, you can rely on most bike maintenance shops as Ahooga Bikes are principally made of standard components.
We did not want to imprison the Ahoogers into a closed eco-system, where choice in accessories and parts is limited, and prices are usually high. So, we went for an open eco-system. Ahooga bikes are mainly assembled with standard parts and components. This means that no matter where you live or move, you can rely on most bicycle maintenance shops.

Yes, we offer bags, baskets, racks, trailers, child seats, hands-free kits, navigation systems, transport covers or bags, carrying handle and lighting,… Everything you would do with a bike (and more) is possible on an Ahooga, Folding and Modular. All the new accessories we sell are all adaptable to our new and old models, which allows us to fight against planned obsolescence.

Due to our desire to offer an open ecosystem, most trailers and caddies will fit on the Ahooga. Most of the time, these are fixed on the rear axle of the bike which is 12mm on the Ahooga. If the trailer you choose has a 12mm axle adapter, that's fine. If not, you will simply have to widen the hole in the adapter. However, we advise you to inquire with us or a bicycle dealer.

Ahooga works with renowned carriers such as Bpost, DHL, UPS, Colissimo, DPD, GLS, Mondial relay, Deutsche Post. These services include track and trace and email notification. The boxes are designed so that your bike reaches you in perfect condition. Within the EU, any missing articles will of course be delivered to you subsequently and free of charge.
All our packages are fully insured during transport.

Yes. We grant a 5-year warranty on all our frames and 2 years on the other components, battery and motor included.
We also grant a warranty extension for 96€/year with a maximum of 2 years (a total of 4 years of warranty on the components).
Yes, of course you can get peace of mind! You can get protected against theft, material damage or unexpected events, like a puncture or an accident. We are by your side 24/7.
You can choose between two insurance plans: ‘Theft and assistance’ or ‘Omnium’. The insurance is provided by Qover me.

The weight of an Ahooga Analog Bike is only 12 kg (22 lbs). An Ahooga e-bike, depending on the model, weighs between 16 kg for the Active (24V), and 17.4 kg (36V) for the Power, with the electrical system (motor and battery included).
With such weight, the Ahooga is twice as light than any other folding bikes. That is why, even without using the electric support, the Ahooga remains light and easy to ride. In this way, you can choose the energy source to draw on, yours or the battery's. You do not depend on the battery all the time, which saves energy and ultimately that’s better for the planet :-)
No. Ahooga’s gear engineering uses oversized chain rings and smaller rear cogs to give you the feeling of riding a full-size bike – you don’t have to pedal any harder or faster.
20” wheels have a slightly higher rolling resistance than larger wheels, but this is only one element of speed. 20” wheels offer several performance advantages such as a faster acceleration due to a lower moment of inertia (important quality when riding in town). It is also easier to pedal uphill (important quality when riding in hilly landscapes), they combine optimally with an electrical assistance, are more aerodynamic and lighter.
From an ergonomic and geometrical point of view, the Ahooga can be compared to a full-size bike. Our 'Double Triangle Twin Tube' patent offers the very best riding experience. That is simply because you have a triangle frame without hinges. This is stiffer than a single tube frame you often find on other folding bikes. Ahooga is unique in that. Because the frame is in one piece, without hinges, it will also never flex or break when pedaling.
Your Ahooga Bike has been designed to accommodate riders between 155 cm and 200 cm (5'1" to 6'5") and carry up to 105 kg (230 lbs). It has a big flexibility thanks to the extendable seat post and stem. These guidelines may vary according to your riding style and the track you ride.
When folded, the Ahooga folding bike is 85cm x 74cm x 30cm (33’’ x 29’’ x 11’’). When unfolded, it is 147cm x 100cm x 55cm (58" x 39" x 22").
No, it is not. In one quick movement, you can park it by half-folding it. It will stand thanks to its small wheels which act as a stand. Because of this, your Ahooga is already 500-700gr lighter than a bike that has a bike stand. Thanks to these wheels, you can also easily roll the bike everywhere.
Yes. On our website, we sell transport covers and bags. We even have a carrying handle. Both combined, you can transform your folded Ahooga into a suitcase.
By the way, your Ahooga Bike can fit into an extra-large suitcase (80cm x 60cm x 30cm/31” x 24” x 12”) if you fold your bike and remove the seat post from the seat tube, the front wheel and the pedals.
Be aware that in some trains your bike must be equipped with a cover (Thalys, Eurostar).

Unlike most of the folding bikes on the market, the Ahooga is not equipped with hinges on its frame. These hinges can sometimes cause the frame to break under significant pressure (e.g. an accident or fall). With its triangular and hinge-free frame, the Ahooga cannot spontaneously fold or break. Because its frame is hinge-free, your Ahooga Bike is exceptionally sturdy, stiff, and safe.

The Ahooga is an electrically assisted cycle (EAC) which means that you have to pedal to make the electrical assistance work. As soon as you stop pedaling, the motor will automatically stop. The electrical assistance can be controlled via the display which you can find on the handlebar. You'll have to activate it by turning the battery and the display on
Yes. The Ahooga is equipped with a telescopic stem. It allows you to adjust the height of the handlebar depending on your height, your riding style, and the position you want to have on your bike. Pay attention to carefully adjust the height of the stem for optimal comfort.
Because the chain length expands and contracts when folding and unfolding, a belt drive, instead of a regular chain, is not currently an option for the Folding. However, if dirt is your concern, we can equip the Ahooga Bike with a bashguard, a protective ring. On top of preventing derailing, it protects the rider’s outfit from grease.
Yes, your Ahooga Analog Bike can become an Ahooga e-bike. It is also possible to transform your electric bike into an Analog bike. However, please address this customization via our customer service or an official Ahooga partner.
Of course.
A folding bike, even half-folded, is authorized in the public transports even during peak hours.
In the train, you can put your Ahooga between the seats or under the seats.
However, pay attention that in some trains, especially Thalys or Eurostar, you'll be asked to put your bike into a transport cover in order not to disturb the other travelers.

The Analog is allowed on a plane. However, for the electric bikes, it depends on the airline company. The size of the battery is often a criterion for admission. From our experience, our batteries are allowed by most airline companies. Some of them can have very specific regulations so please contact the airline company to be sure.
We chose a rear wheel motor hub over a central motor for 3 main reasons:
Weight and performance ratio: The motor manufacturer we partner with has over 15 years of experience in building lightweight, compact, high torque rear hub motors. It provides more thrust and dynamics than a central hub motor. Besides, central hubs motors are much heavier and offer too much resistance when the assistance is off. They are simply not compatible with our hybrid concept.
Reduced wear and lower maintenance costs: Unlike a central motor, the crank, sprockets and chain are not placed under load and wear less due to the transmission of motor power.
Noiseless: Our motors are unusually silent compared to other rear hub and central motors.
Triangular frame without hinge: Most of the folding bikes on the market are made with a single-tube frame with a hinge. Because of that hinge, the frame needs to be made of steel with reinforcements which add some weight to the bike. Thanks to its triangular frame without hinge, our bike is stiff, solid and light. Because the frame is in one piece, without hinges, it will also never flex or break when pedaling.
Weight: Our bikes weigh between 13 and 15kg vs 18kg for most of the electric bikes on the market.
20" wheels: VS 16" wheels: With 20" wheels, along with a large chainring, you can cover the same distance with the same effort as on a standard bike.
Open eco-system: VS closed eco-system: we did not want to imprison the Ahoogers into a closed eco-system, where choice in accessories and parts is limited and prices are usually high. So, we went for an open eco-system. This means that no matter where you live or move, you can rely on most bicycle maintenance shops, as Ahooga bicycles are mainly made up of standard components.
FAQ Modular
Its weight can vary between 17kg (8 speed) and 18kg (3 speed) depending on the configuration of the bike (low step versus unisex). This weight is calculated with motor and battery but without any accessory (racks or fenders).
This is lighter than any other e-bike on the market. That is why, even without using the electric support, the Modular remains light and easy to ride. In this way, you can choose the energy source to draw on, yours or the battery's. You do not depend on the battery all the time, which saves energy and ultimately that’s better for the planet :-)
The Modular bike is a 26" wheel bike, and has the following dimensions:165cm x 102cm x 63cm (65" x 40" x 25"). Thanks to the “Space Saver”, its space saving handlebar and with a single rotational movement, it saves 65% of space in width. Stored like this it has a diameter of only 25 cm!
The frame of the Modular is available in 2 different versions:
- The unisex version is suitable for people between 1.60m and 2m.
- The low step version is suitable for people between 1.50m and 1.90m. Low entry may be more convenient for people with reduced muscle capacity, or when wearing skirts.
For tall people and / or a more comfortable sitting position, it is recommended to opt for the "heads up" option.
The total weight capacity of the Modular is 145kg. It can be equipped with front and rear carriers/racks.

We have 4 rack packs available:
- Front Rack Pack: front carrier and single bike stand.
- Shopping Rack Pack: rear carrier and double bike stand.

In its unisex version, the Modular comes with a 40 mm handlebar to get a moderate position.
In its low step version, it comes with a City handlebar or Moon Cruiser to get a straight position.
Beyond a certain height (1m85), or in case the bike is shared by several people, you should consider the "heads up" option, an adjustable stem. With the heads-up option you can adjust the height of the handlebar to get the most optimal and comfortable riding position.

It is advised not to drain your battery completely as it affects its capacity. Also, it is recommended not to go over the recommended charging time. Constantly leaving the battery connected to the charger, will use up the charging cycles and reduce the lifespan of your battery.
